Apache SM-505 2 - 5 Cell Li-Poly Balancer


Over time, small differences in individual cell voltages can add up to a major imbalance between the cells in a pack. This can lead to overdischarging weaker cells in flight or overcharging stronger cells during charging. With the Apache SM-505 Li-Poly Balancer Guard, you can ensure your Lithium Polymer packs are well balanced for maximum life and best performance.
Plug your 2 - 5 cell lithium battery pack into the balancer (using the supplied adapters for 2, 3, and 4 cell packs) and the unit immediately detects cell imbalance and starts a low-current (300ma) discharge of cells with higher voltages until they are within .01V of cells with lower voltages. LEDs on the unit flash to indicate which cells are out-of-balance and being discharged. When the LEDs stop flashing, the pack has been balanced.
The unit will also balance while charging and protect your cells from overcharge. Follow the above procedure, but then plug the balancer into your charger and begin the charge cycle. The unit will balance the cells as the pack is charged. If any cell becomes overcharged (reaching 4.30V), the unit will automatically terminate the charging, but continue to balance the pack. When the balancing is complete, simply charge the pack at a low current setting (0.5 amps or less) to recondition the battery.

    Smaller and Lighter than Blue Bird,  uses JST  Connectors

    New and improved design with longer 650 foot (200 meter) airborne range. Built-in DSP (digital signal processing) for glitch filtering so interference is minimal as long as you maintain at least one free channel on either side of your frequency. Unlike the previous R3P4-J receiver, this receiver uses servos with signal-negative-positive "white-black-red" polarity.

    The net weight of this servo is 4.3g. It can also be rebuilt into a lighter one. With the servo-case bottom removed or by switching to the the JST plug, the weight can be reduced to 4.0g. The weight can be reduced by 0.8g by using enameled magnet wire for connections. In all, the weight can be reduced by 1.1g to get a servo weighing 3.2g.

    This servo now uses signal-negative-positive "white-black-red" polarity that is compatible with new Blue Arrow, GWS, JMP and Wes-Technik receivers that use micro JST connectors for servo connection.

    This servo will work with the Following Receiver:

    single-cell receivers like the Microbatics DSP-S3 and DSP-SB3, the Plantraco 900mhz servo receiver, JMP servo combo, or other sub-micro receivers. Also works with regular receivers like the Blue Arrow R3P4J-II.

    Note that the pin polarity is not compatible with Cirrus Micro Joule equipment - you will need to swap black and red wires for the Micro Joule receiver.
